Explore how the Executive Regulations translate legal requirements into practical procedures for licensing, approvals, inspections and enforcement. Participants will understand how these provisions are applied throughout the construction lifecycle.
Learn how to determine whether a proposed construction activity requires a permit or qualifies for an exemption. The module also covers the classification of building, maintenance and demolition permits, together with requirements for existing buildings and special cases.
Follow the complete permit process from design submission to final approval and issuance. Participants will review the required engineering documents, authority approvals, permit validity, modifications, renewals, cancellations and use of the Building Permits Electronic System.
Examine the respective legal responsibilities of building owners, engineering offices and contractors throughout project delivery. The module addresses professional liability, supervision, documentation, reporting and continuing compliance obligations.
Understand the mandatory inspection requirements applied at each stage of construction, from excavation to project completion. Participants will learn how to prepare for inspections, respond to non-compliance, manage corrective actions and complete re-inspection procedures.
Explore the requirements for obtaining Certificates of Completion and Occupancy Certificates. This module covers the framework introduced under Administrative Decree No. 1 of 2024, including initial, renewable, conditional and temporary certificates, their validity periods and renewal obligations.
Understand how construction violations are identified, recorded and enforced. Participants will examine settlement procedures, complaints, appeals, demolition measures and the administrative penalties that may result from regulatory non-compliance.
Gain an overview of the principal technical codes and standards used across Abu Dhabi construction projects. Participants will learn how to identify and apply the appropriate requirements during design, permitting, construction and ongoing building maintenance.
